THE STUDIO is a fitness and holistic wellness space located in Montreal, Canada. It originally opened in 2020 and was founded by owner and personal trainer Val Desjardins. Our team's approach is anchored in the (4x) pillars of wellness: MOVEMENT, RECOVERY, MINDSET, AND NUTRITION. We are dedicated to supporting our clients as they strive to adopt intentional mindsets and embrace an individualized approach to their personal health and well-being.
Our space was born from a shift in the wellness industry, one geared towards self-care, inclusivity, longevity, and aging well. Our goal was to build a community of people that were dedicated to each other and to showing up for themselves. We wanted to create a space where all would feel welcome, understood and supported in their process.

EXOS Fitness Specialist and NYU Master Graduate, Val has devoted the bulk of her career to both creating and embracing an all-encompassing wellness approach. Her 20 years of combined experience as a successful business owner in the nightlife industry and as a competitive athlete and coach have led her to her current position as owner of The Studio MTL in Westmount, a wellness space
located in Montreal, QC.
She has created an inclusive space that emulates her belief in holistic wellness and is designed to facilitate embracing a balance of consistent training, recovery practices, and nutrition. Her PUMP training method, which combines individualized cardio, resistance work, and mat pilates, has led her to work with countless athletes, high performance individuals, companies, and coaches.
Her position as both an industry leader and business owner has led her to become a partner at Spa Bota Bota, a 40,000 square-foot facility located in the heart of Montreal’s Old Port. Bota Bota offers a curated Nordic spa experience rooted in an urban setting. In addition to this, she has also secured a role as a recurring Health & Wellness contributor for ELLE Canada and ELLE Québec, two iconic staples in the Canadian media industry.
